Its not every day that I come across an article about China's economic development and how it is being rolled out. Let alone an article that is as good, comprehensive and apt a description as the article recently written by David Leonhardt in the New York Times on the 24 November 2010.
The article entitled "In China, Cultivating and Urge to Splurge" touches many important issues affecting the Chinese economy today. The demographic problem it will face in the next ten years, the property bubble, the need to encourage innovation, and of course creating more of a consumer culture in China.
This is must reading for anyone with an interest in China's economic development today.
You can read it here on the New York Times: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/11/28/magazine/28China-t.htm
